EITHER "The highest ever price" refers only to coins sold in
Schulman auctions, OR they need to do better research ...
This wouldn't have even broken into the Top Ten Prices Realized
for NGC-certified Stellas, according to NGC:

1 $575,000.00 1880 COILED HAIR $4 PF PF 62 1/7/2009
2 $546,250.00 1880 COILED HAIR $4 PF PF 62 7/31/2009
3 $402,500.00 1879 FLOWING HAIR $4 PF PF 67 8/13/2006
3 $402,500.00 1879 COILED HAIR $4 PF PF 63 8/13/2006
5 $316,250.00 1879 COILED HAIR $4 PF PF 63 1/3/2007
5 $316,250.00 1880 FLOWING HAIR $4 PF PF 65 4/9/2007
7 $287,500.00 1879 COILED HAIR $4 PF PF 63 1/12/2005
8 $264,500.00 1880 FLOWING HAIR $4 PF PF 65 1/12/2005
9 $230,000.00 1879 FLOWING HAIR $4 PF PF 66 3/6/2008
10 $209,875.00 1879 FLOWING HAIR $4 PF PF 66 6/3/2004

And I'm certain that numerous PCGS-certified Stellas similarly
topped $130K (but I'm not willing to pay to find out ...).

And of course the record auction price for any U. S. gold coin
is $7.5 millyun for the 1933 dubble iggle in July 2002 ...

I checked Heritage's web site. The highest price they show is for an
1880 Coiled Hair NGC PR-66 CAM. It sold for $977,500.00 in January
2005.

For an 1879 Flowing Hair graded by PCGS, there are 19 listed that sold
for more than $130,000.00.

I remember my dad purchasing one for a client in 1981 and it cost
$7,000. It was a good investment.

I'll translate: "CoinHELP! scratched their heads and declared to"

Thanks for adding additional and interesting info on the increase of
coin values and investment potentials (sarcasm alert)

And you're what's wrong with this world. You have no common decency
and are publicly profane when it's not deserved. Sorry you feel so
threatened.
