Looks like the copper was stripped off it, but who knows. I have a
2000 penny with same finish. I figured it was chemically treated to
show the zinc:

BTW: It's easier to remove the zinc by scraping the edge of the cent
and soaking the penny in a weak acid solution. Vinegar will do the
trick. You'll wind up with a hollow penny.

Fake or not, it's been bid up to $61 as of 11:37 this morning. The other

If it is real, $61 is a good price.
I'd feel more comfortable buying an item like that if it was certified
by one of the major TPG companies.
$6 for priority mail isn't all that bad.
