I check with Thomas (Library of Congress). So far,
the Text of the Bill has not been entered yet. I
used the search words "coin", and "coins" for the
date range (01/01/2009 - 02/24/2009). Once
it shows up, I will post it.

Senators seek special Ft. Leavenworth coins

U.S. Sens. Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback are sponsoring
legislation that would require the minting of coins paying
tribute to the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College
at Fort Leavenworth.
The Kansas Republican senators introduced a bill
authorizing the treasury to produce 100,000 gold coins
with a $5 face value, 500,000 silver coins with a $1
value and 750,000 copper-nickel clad 50 cent coins.
The coins would pay tribute to five-star generals, all
graduates of the college, who led U.S. forces during
World War II. The generals are Dwight Eisenhower, George
Marshall, Douglas MacArthur, Henry Arnold and Omar
Bradley.
"Kansas is proud to be the home of the oldest, largest
and arguably the most prestigious military staff college
in the United States," Roberts said.
A surcharge would be applied to each coin: $35 for the
$5 coin, $10 for the $1 coin and $5 for the half-dollar
coin. Proceeds would be sent to the college's
not-for-profit foundation.
Reps. Lynn Jenkins, R-Kan., and Dennis Moor, D-Kan., are
expected to introduce similar legislation in the House.
