Whenever I've used a laundromat to wash and dry clothes, I've thought it
foolish that the machines take only quarters, as it is cumbersome to
have to use so many coins. Here's a laundromat that gives customers a
choice of using dollars or quarters:

I like this line:

"Attendants at Red Springs are teaching customers how to use the
dollar coins..."

Interesting. It didn't mention though what denominations of bills are
accepted in those change machines. I presume the machines would accept
fives and maybe tens, otherwise having to insert $1 bills eight times in
order to get enough coins for a large wash would be kinda self-defeating,
convenience-wise.

It's sad that any customers, English-speaking or not, would have to be
taught how to use a dollar coin, assuming they already know how to use a
quarter and that they can read the instructions by the washing machine.

Hello

I think about my days in college, and how I could
Meet a lot of gals at the local laundry Matt. Back
In my days, all the people I met there was English
Speaking.

North Carolina is not the friendliest place to
Live if your Hispanic.

-------------------------------------------------

He has a sizeable Spanish-speaking clientele,
and though most signs are written in both
English and Spanish, a Spanish-speaking
attendant, along with other Spanish-speaking
customers, help laundry novices navigate the
new setup.

Those unfamiliar with the language are not the
only ones getting help. "A new customer will
look at that hard dollar, and sometimes you've
got to tell them it is a dollar," he explains.
"Once they learn, they will be all right."
