Lincoln & Chronicles Set

On a whim, I ordered a single Lincoln & Chronicles set from the Mint on the
17th, received an 11 Nov backorder email the next day, and today, 23 Oct,
received a shipping confirmation email. May be a good sign for those who
worried about their 15 Oct order being placed too late for this "limited
issue" thingy.

I never did expect to get one, even with the adjusted "one per household"
limit. I thought all the big dealers would have corralled most of the
50,000 inventory. It's not something I really care about keeping, so maybe
the eBay scene will offer a chance for a profit that can be used to buy
something I really do want to keep.

Finished auctions have been running in the $170 range. Not a bad profit for
those who got their set(s) quickly from the Mint. Now if I can just keep
from being greedy.............. I bought three of those reverse proof SAE
sets from the Mint a couple years ago at $100 but watched like King Midas
while they were bringing $500 on eBay. Now these sets have returned to
earth-- there's still a decent profit to be made-- but I lost out on
possibly turning $300 into $1,500 in a few weeks. Coulda turned into a
choice Barber half for my type set. Oh, well.
