Does anyone know of a list of "important" US coin auction catalogues? By
"important" I mean sales that are complete, or nearly so, for a given US
series. A recent example would be the Goldberg's Naftzger Collection of
Large Cents - auctions 48, 51 and 54.

I know of no such comprehensive list. You might try to seek out the
"important" sales for each specific series by approaching the
specialty club for that series. For example, Early American Copper
club members can give you information on the key half cent and large
cent sales. Same for John Reich Collector Society and Bust material,
LSCC and Liberty Seated coins, and so on.

Thanks, Denis. I had guessed that I would have to build such a list myself.
When I come up with a good one, I'll post it here.
