No silver for 1 oz proofs but they have silver for these.

Rightly or wrongly, Congress mandated the production of these
things by statute. Some times one has to do what the petty little
voices tell you do do.

I would bet the idea for the hockey pucks came out of Mr. Moy's front
office. I don't think they get it (what makes a numismatist "tick",
that is).

There's nothing petty about being a U.S. Congresscritter. But
we hire them to work together and solve the hard problems, not
to produce "feel good" legislation like this.

In my experience, Republicans can be just as petty as Democrats.

I'll take that bet, since the Mint had no idea how they were going
to produce the things.
