The United Kingdom is far more coin-oriented than the U.S.A., as the
smallest note is 5 pounds (or about 8 dollars). Two pound and one
pound coins are used all the time. It is hard to imagine a coin worth
three or more dollars circulating in the U.S.A.

Not for me, it isn't. I can imagine it quite easily. It'll happen as soon
as the politicians stop their pious preening and get down to business.
Wait, I can't imagine that happening, so cancel that previous statement.
