Since Ned does not provide ANY context to his postings, they are almost
entirely useless - so I usually don't see the need to comment.
However, I would like to point out that this auction (for 10 one-ounce
Gold Eagles) is by a reputable bullion dealer (Bullion Direct) with
which I have done repeated business.
While I assume they do the majority of their business at their web site
(http://www.bulliondirect.com), they have always run a number of eBay
auctions as well.
I see nothing out of the ordinary or suspicious in this auction.
P.S.: I replaced Ned's URL on the off chance that he's merely trolling
for clicks.

Ned seems to be a harmless lurker who wants to fit in, so he searches
ebay for interesting, expensive auctions. Nothing he links is tied to
him, as far as I can tell.

Since he had yet to say ONE WORD here, I'm not even convinced he reads
this newsgroup. I wouldn't be surprised if he's just some automated
posting robot.
Either way, I think his postings are more noise than signal and I wish
he'd either step up and explain himself or just go away...
(I suppose it could be worse. He could be selling replica watches)

Jerry, I would bid on it, but it is only in 'well' condition and I am
looking for one in either very well, or extremely well. Still a

Since his posts are coin related, they seem to me to be on topic.
As for his not saying "ONE WORD", I'd have to say his posts are
infinitely more enjoyable than the more wordy posts of some of the
regulars here.

I agree. If he really wanted to fit in here, he's certainly had plenty of
opportunities by now to comment on all the auctions he cites. I also tend
to agree with the notion that he gets some kind of credit when people click
on the auction links he posts.
