Lately I've been telling each cashier I use a half at that they are,
well a half. Forgot to today, come home and see the cashier rang the
half up as a buck.

At least the mistake was in your favor. After the tooth fairy left an
Ike dollar for my daughter, she went to the store to spend it.
Cashier said, "Oo, a half." I told him to look at it closely. He
took a dollar out of his pocket and kept the Ike.
