I have some 18th century French ecu's and I want to know some more details
about these coins. Can anyone give me a webadress or a link to a site?
Thanks a lot for your help.

WebSite? I am not certain of one, but there is a Spanish ebay seller
with the handle of "tarcit" who has lots of Louis XIV, Louis XV and
Louis XVI ecus; perhaps you could compare with his listings.
His prices are basically O.K., not stiff but not low either.

Lots of stuff there (and books too) that I'd be proud to own!
I met Monsieur V. Gadoury twice, once at a long-ago ANA convention.
His stuff was nice nice nice but always very stiffly priced - very
high. But he has been dead for about fifteen years - bad ticker, I
believe.
He had a nephew in Hamiltion Ontario who sold me a large group of
Monaco 50 Francs Silver (mostly 1974 dates). He was a nice guy, only
somewhat interested in coins.

I have noted tarcit's auctions on eBay. His prices seem reasonable,
but so far I have not nibbled.
I have also seen folks from Maison Palombo, in Marseille. They seem
to travel a bit (NYC, the Netherlands and elsewhere). They have been
interesting to talk to and often have some rather unique items. I
have bought a few things from them at reasonable prices (they have
other things at breathtaking prices that are nice to look at).
I have bought two Louis XVI ecus from tarcit.
I was happy with what I recieved. In one instance, I bought a Louis
XVI coin with the adjustment marks on the front, from eight o'clock to
two o'clock. This is probably the only French ecu that I have ever
purchased that had the adjustments on the front and not on the
reverse. Still, I was pleased.
The coins came very promtly too and were well-packaged for shipment.
Thanks for the link to Editions V. Gadoury. I knew about the book
part, but had never looked at their coins. I have marked the website
on my favorites list.
