I asked this same question several weeks ago. Since then, I have seen P
mint nickels and dimes on eBay, but nary a D mint of either. I've been to
three large shows and not a single dealer has them or has had them. Nobody
seems to know even how to get them. The most plausible explanation I have
heard is that they were minted but not yet ordered out due to an already
overabundance of the two denominations in banks, so they sit languishing at
the Fed.
The guy who could finagle getting a bag of each could probably sell at least
a few individual pieces at handsome prices.

Someone already is. Skyline Coins has an ad in the 10/12 issue of Coin
World, a 2 page spread on pp34-35, advertising 2009-P nickels & dimes
for $2.95 apiece, & $5.85 a pair. This fellow is located in Virginia,
so I imagine he's got a friend in the Richmond FRB.
