2008 $2 Single Note (Boston)

If new $2 bills are being produced in 2008, why is their series
2003A? Why not 2008A or something?

Probably because the year on the bill doesn't always have anything
to do with the actual year of printing, and 2003A notes were the
deuces printed for circulation. Rather than issue a new series that
are only used in a promotional item, I'm guessing they chose to have a
short print run of the "current" series.
