I was looking on NGC's web site for information on their "W"
designation (as in MS 66 W) and wasn't able to find any information.
Can someone explain NGC's W to me?
Thanks for you time,
Dave
I don't know anything at all about this topic, but it was damn easy to

Thanks,

"W" was meant to designate a "white" (untoned) silvercoin. The
designation was discontinued a few years ago --
probably because coins can continue to tone (tarnish) after slabbing.
