A Plainview man is recovering today after being hit by a train Sunday night.
According to reports from the Hale County Sheriff's
Office, Joshua Box, 28, was putting coins on the
tracks just north of Cargill Meat Solutions at
crossing 623 about 6 p.m. He was struck in the head
by a ladder attached to one of the cars of the
slow-moving, north-bound trains.
Box was taken to Covenant Hospital Plainview where
he was treated and released.
Class C misdemeanor charges could be filed against
Box by the railroad, officials said.
