OK, Say I'm in Britain and looking into the viability of buying
Platinum or Silver Investment Bullion coins which is liable for VAT.
Say I have a VAT registered business.
Questions:

Would it be legal for to claim the VAT back if I bought some?
Would I need to charge VAT if I sell them in the future?
What happens if I de-registered from VAT before selling?

Hello

I am not sure what you mean by "VAT"?

To me, the word "bullion" refers to uncoined
gold, silver, platinum, and palladium in the
form of bars, ingots, or plate.

Platinum and Palladium bullion can be purchase
on spot market at the links shown below. Kitco
is located in Canada.

Value Added Tax= "Sales tax" where you are.

In GB gold is exempt from 17.5% (15% soon) VAT but Platinum and Silver
are not.

Bullion coins are more for investing in the metal than for Numismatic
interest:

I think a brit may be in a better position to answer my questions.

Hello

You might want to try the newsgroup "uk.rec.collecting.coins".
It is also a very active newsgroup.

Wrong. VAT is levied on each transaction where goods change hands as a
business. Sales Tax is levied on the end buyer only.

It's claiming VAT back on buying coins as a business in GB that I'm
interested in, I don't know the tax arrangements in other parts of
the world.
