Gold briefly went above $1500 today and is trending upward, as is silver.
In a related story, the USA's credit rating has been downgraded.
See where this is going folks?
Anyone care to guess when silver will hit $50?
The credit rating was by S&P, who rated the famous toxic mortgage packages.
It is a wonder that they have any creditability.
Nice malaprop
Thought so two
I'm already picking up common date commem dollars at around melt from my local
dealer, who puts them aside for me when he gets them.
Gold & silver down today, probably from the dip in oil prices and profit taking
on the recent run-up.
Overall I remain bullish on precious metals, since the debt crisis is not going
away any time soon.

There are a LOT of potential bargains out there in B&M shops these days.
If you have a good relationship with a local deeler, I recommend that
you stop by and see what they are tossing into the melt bucket these
days.
One particular shop I have a long relationship with is quite willing to
let me swap out common date 90 perzent silver for the better date stuff
they are sending to the bullion wholesalers, and substitute 1921 Morgan
dollers for better date ones they are shipping out. (In fact, 1921
Morgans actually bring a slight premium over pre-1921 Morgans these
days, but I'm happy to swap them one-for-one ...).
Full G/VG Barbers, what ustabin better date Walkers and Mercs, modern
commems (both silver and gold), low- to mid-grade U. S. circ gold, even
picked up a couple of low grade/damaged CC dollers yesterday ... all
swapped for what truly is "junk silver".
[FWIW, the same thing happened back in 1979-1980, when at the peak I was
swapping 1964 dimes, quarters and halves for Seated Liberty coins
one-for-one.]
