Unusual 1967 Specimen set from 1989

Hi to the group.

I have aquired a Specimen Set from 1989. It is an offical Royal mint
set, but the coins are dated 1967!!!

It is in the same design as of the other 1980's specimen sets

The card pack is entiled "Libra. Solidus. Denarius" with a Lion on a
pedastle roaring.

Has anyone seen one of these, or knows what it is?

as stamped?

Coincidentally, I have the New Zealand Post periodical brochure
thingy, with their stamp and coin offerings, right here. And, it
offers an item containing old, circulated coins from our
pre-decimal era. The coins are at least forty years old, but the
cardboard folder is new. I guess they are a little short on
ideas at the moment.

Perhaps the item you have is a similar type of deal?

Or perhaps "L-S-D" and "1967" relate to someone at the Royal Mint
having flashbacks from taking hallucinogens during the, "Summer
Of Love"?

May I ask, how you knew about this. I checked Coincraft, Krause,
Spink, British Coins, and Ebay, nothing!!!!!

I know because I have this set in stock somewhere
plus sold it a few times

Royal Mint often issue sets like this they have done quiet a few over the
last 20 years
all using old coins
