The Library of Congress now has the bill posted
for the public to view. I "copy and paste" below.
With the overall economy in the tank, it is not
unusual for politicians to take some action, and
create a distraction for American voters, in their
local district. I Am sure most of the people within
Congressman Frank Lucas district are not aware
of the "Coin Modernization and Taxpayer Savings
Act of 2008". That bill was passed by the House of
Representatives and sent to the Senate.
(HR 5512 RFS, dated May, 12, 2008)
It is and election year for Congressman Frank
Lucas. :)

5-Cent Restoration Act of 2008 (Introduced in House)
HR 6942 IH
110th CONGRESS
2d Session
H. R. 6942
To amend section 5112 of title 31, United States Code, to
provide for the return of the half-dime as the new 5-cent
circulating coin, and for other purposes.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
September 18, 2008
Mr. LUCAS introduced the following bill; which was referred
to the Committee on Financial Services
-----------------------------------------------------------
A BILL
To amend section 5112 of title 31, United States Code, to
provide for the return of the half-dime as the new 5-cent
circulating coin, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `5-Cent Restoration Act of 2008'.
SEC. 2. RETURN OF THE HALF-DIME.
(a) In General- Paragraph (5) of section 5112(a) of title 31,
United States Code, is amended to read as follows:
`(5) a clad half-dime that is based on the size and shape of
the half-dime or 5-cent coin produced in the 1870s.'.
(b) Effective Date- The amendment made by subsection (a) shall
apply to coins issued after December 31, 2009.
..
Where do I submit my amendment to reintroduce the trime?
If they do anything, I say switch the dime and nickel around, and have
a dime the same size and weight of the current nickel, and have the
nickel the same weight and size as the current dime. Then make the
penny smaller than the new dime sized nickel, but still copper in
color (since we'll probably never get rid of the penny) then also, as
I said, reduce the size of the half dollar. In fact, since making a
different sized nickel is going to cause trouble for vending machines
anyway, make the $1 coin the size of the half, still golden in color,
and make the quarter a little smaller, then make the half a copper
colored coin, the same size as the current dollar coin. (But won't
people be losing these "half dimes" a lot easier than current nickels?
I thought Iread somewhere that, this was the problem with the silver 3
cent coin) I'm sure that a coin smaller than the dime, and no longer
having a nickel sized coin would cause too much confusion for a lot of
people.
And for those of you who like making idiotic remarks at me, claiming
that you're "my better" (I don't think so, because I'm practically a
God compared to the likes of you people), do yourselves a favor, and
go have sex with someone with AIDS.
Of the tens of thousands of news postings I have read over the years, yours
are the only ones I save.
W.
A very sad story.
