$4,000 raised in Coins for Cancer Care drive

Route 43 Harley-Davidson recently delivered more than $4,000 to
the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund. The dealership, located
at 3736 S. Taylor Drive in Sheboygan, had been collecting coins
and bills in a 144-gallon plastic tub on their showroom floor
since the beginning of April. The money will be used in
Sheboygan County to help hundreds of cancer victims and their
families.
"Our goal was to fill the bucket," said Chad Koeppel, sales
manager of Route 43 Harley-Davidson and organizer of the Coins
for Cancer Care drive. "We collected 517 pounds of coins,thanks
to the contributions from many caring individuals."
The coins totaled $2,311, but the dealership also received
many cash donations. The amount collected was quadruple last
year's donation to cancer care.
Route 43 Harley-Davidson gave participants a raffle ticket per
pound of change donated for a chance to win prizes.
The night before the drawing, Arlen Brunsvold of Sheboygan
brought in a five-gallon water jug of coins, which he had
been collecting for more than 10 years, and won a
Harley-Davidson neon clock and the grand prize - a 32-inch
Vizio plasma screen TV. His 115 pounds of change was the
largest coin donation the dealership received.
Other prizes were awarded to Kevin Wislinsky of Elkhart
Lake, a 105th Harley-Davidson Anniversary leather
jacket; Dennis Hunkel of Sheboygan, an Apple 8-GB iPod
Nano, and Colleen Sass of Sheboygan Falls, a tailgate
basket, cooler and grill from Woodlake Market in Kohler.
Woodlake Market also donated a monthly basket to raffle
for seven months for the Coins for Cancer Care drive.
