There is a local dealer who salvages and places used coin holders
(including the aging yellowing used Capital Plastics like yours) in
cardboard boxes that are kept along a back wall in his shop.
If you spend twenty dollars on coins with him, just a few times a
year, you are welcome to fish out anything useful from those boxes -
free of charge.

I have a 1942 proof set (both nickels) in a Capital holder that I bought in the
mid-70s.
Coins and holder all still look great.
Speaking of which, the 1942 proof wartime silver nickel is a one year type in
proof yet still remains surpringly affordable in all but the very highest
grades.
