Images -- U.S. Mint 2009 Presidential Dollar Coins -- "In God We Trust"

Hello

This Thursday, I have posted four new images of the 2009 United
States Mint Presidential dollar coins on the news group
"alt.binaries.pictures.numismatic". The four new coins have the
motto "In God We Trust" on the front of the coins.

I have also included two news stories related to the coin
changes as well.

I would have put "In God We Trust" directly under the image, and the
"##th President" and "Year to Year" to the sides.

And I still wish they would put the year (or at least the mint mark)
on the obverse or reverse so it is easier to see.

I would have left the obverse design alone and put "In God We Trust" on
the reverse with the eagle.

There is no eagle on the Presidential dollars - it shows the Statue of Liberty

Hello

I read his remarks as well on the eagle. I am sure he ment the
Statue of Liberty. He may have been thinking of another coin
at the time.

I have done worse typo's as well. :)

When I first saw the images, I read them as:
"In God We Trust (the) 9th President"

Agreed. I find "In God We Trust" to be divisive. "E Pluribus Unum"
would be a much better choice to be on the face of the dollar.
Unfortunately, it, as well as the important date and mint mark, are
relegated to the edge now all by themselves.

I hope all the religious people who sent around that spam about "God is
off our dollar" will, starting in January, actively get and spend them.
