hello all i have a british 1973 one new penny over a 1961 sixpence, and
this
coin is unique and is in bu condition. I wrote and got a reply from the
royal
mint London in February1974, it read your 1973 dated 1p piece returned
herewith, has been struck on a 1961 dated sixpence that was fed
accidentally to the striking area of the coining press. Can anyone out
there
please tell me how i go about having this coin made official and put in
a
world coin standard catalog.?

IMHO, the best thing to do would be to hold onto your official
paperwork and see error coin specialist Fred Weinberg.
Mr. Weinberg primarily does U.S. errors, but occasionally he has some
wonderful foreign stuff too. Mr. Weinberg is a real professional
gentleman.

A unique piece really doesn't need to be in a general world coin
catalog.
It only makes sense to catalog something that is occasionally actually
encountered by other folks handling coins.
Think about it: if nobody else will ever handle a another coin exactly
like yours, why would they ever need to look it up in a catalog?

A unique error will sell itself and rarely be traded except by
specialists in error coins. Those folks know their values and in fact
they establish those values in markets which they make themselves.
If you are looking for a buyer, and your coin and documents are good,
I'm certain that such a person exists.
You don't have to change the world.
