Here is a badly written anti dollar coin article, followed by a lot of
juicy reader debate. Found on coinflation.com.

Hello

The story does speak the truth when it comes to get
Americans to start using the Dollar Coin. The only
Real way to get them to start using the coin, is to
Replace worn out one-dollar demand notes with one
Dollar coins. In better words, stop printing one-dollar
Bills.

Replacing the paper dollar with a metal dollar would
Be a tax savings since the average life of a coin is
20 to 30 years. The paper dollar does not last nearly
That long, and would be replace several times over
20 to 30 years.

I see it as a way to reduce counterfeiting on demand
Notes. Counterfeiters will wash the ink off the one-dollar
Coin, and print it up as a $20, $50, and $100 dollar bill.
Most cashiers only use a pin to check the color of the
Paper, and not look for the watermarks or raised line on
A bill.
