Dumb and dumber. A couple of "Harry and Floyed",

Shasta County Sheriff's deputies arrested one man
after he was reported using collectors coins to
gamble at a casino over the weekend.
A residence in the 17000 block of Meek Landing Lane
in Anderson was burglarized about 3:31 p.m. Friday
afternoon, said Sgt John Hubbard. Suspects took
$6,300 in collectors coins from the home.
Friday at 8 p.m. deputies were contacted by Win
River Casino employees about two men who had
exchanged $50 in collectors coins.
Saturday afternoon deputies were once again
notified of two men who used $591 in collectors
coins, this time at Rolling Hills Casino in Corning.
Deputies spoke with Dennis James Parkinson, 34, and
James Edward Smith, 37, said Hubbard. Based on
information received from the two men deputies
received a search warrant for a residence in
Anderson where money and narcotics were found,
Hubbard said.
No information was available about whether or not
the residence belongs to either Parkinson or
Smith or if the money found included stolen
coins. Calls to the Sheriff's office have not
yet been returned.
Smith is being held in the Shasta County Jail in
lieu of $100,000 bail. He is expected to be
charged with receiving known stolen property
and burglary.
Parkinson is not being held at this time,
according to a jail spokesman.
