NEW ORLEANS -- A one-of-a-kind $10 coin made 164
years ago is on display at the New Orleans mint.

Paul Hollis, local coin dealer and collector, said
the piece was minted in New Orleans and is worth
millions.

The owner of the coin is a private collector who is
allowing the New Orleans mint to display the rare
coin in a show at the mint, Hollis said.

The coin will be on display until Jan. 18, 2009.

Hollis said that while on a trip to New York six
years ago, he "got wind" of the rare coin that was
not listed in any research books.

The rare $10 piece also reportedly has a companion
$5 gold piece that was made at the same time. This
$5 gold coin has not been found and Hollis said he
has announced a reward for it's location.
