I have an 1883 No Cent Nickel that I acquired someplace over fifty
years ago. It is in XF condition, but - and it is a big but, it has
been gold bronze plated, I assume to emulate the "Racketeer Nickel".

My question, Has the plating greatly diminished the value of the
coin. It isn't like it is a particularly valuable coin in the first
place, but I am curious.

Thanks, Bob-tx

If it somehow could be determined that the plating was contemporary -- that
it was applied during the early years that an 1883 would have circulated --
I'm sure there are collectors who would pay a premium for it over and above
the value of a normal XF example.
