An employee who discovered white powder on coins
taken into a Sandy, Utah credit union decided
to analyze the substance with her tongue.
The employee reportedly decided to lick the
powder on the coins, but officials said she
was not sick when a hazmat crew arrived at
Cyprus Credit Union to investigate the
possible "suspicious substance" event.
It turns out the white powder was not
particularly dangerous, but also was not
exactly the stuff you would call "licking
good".
Officials report that the coins belonged to
the customer's father who kept them in a
laxative jar- it's now believed that
medication is what coated the coins.
The credit union employee was not taken to
the hospital, it is unknown if any other
medical problems have occurred.
