I have a large (about 2" diameter) "coin" that looks like a proof
American eagle but has "LB" in the lower left field near the rising
sun on the obverse side. It is dated 1998 and on the reverse has
"FIVE TROY OUNCE .999 SILVER" where the 1 oz legend is on the real
eagle.

Does anyone know more about where this was made? I can find nothing
on the web about it.

Definitly a privately struck issue from any number of private mint
type marketing companies. Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint never did
stuff like this. Washington Mint perhaps but they usually did the
half and full pound issues. Maybe Continental Coin Corp?
