I wholesaled a half dozen of these to another deeler with the
promise that I wouldn't list any on eBay for at least a month,
so the few I still have left are available to r.c.c readers for
$7.50 postpaid within the US ($8.00 postpaid internationally),
limit one per order, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cash, check, money order, PayPal, Billpoint, BidPay, IOU's, etc.
accepted in payment, but ABSOLUTELY NO LIVESTOCK ... (sorry,

My understanding is that when you buy one of these, you buy the holder, not the
coin. The coin can be removed. I have seen NYC Subway tokens put in them and
the Atomic Museum never irradiated a subway token -- or anything else, except
silver dimes.
The ASME holders from Oakridge are _sealed_, but the NY World's Fair are not.
Is that correct?

That is correct ... the holder is soft plastic and there
is no covering over the dime. I supposed they cuddabin
switched, but I don't have any reason to suspect that they
have been. The ones I'm selling include both the plastic
encasement and the encased silver dime.

Sorry, my mistake: AMSE = American Museum of Science and Energy, the
new name of the Atomic Energy Museum at Oakridge. I went down there
Labor Day 1999 following their 50th Anniversary Grand Re-Opening of
the Secret City. The science museum curator took me through the table
of isotopes and showed me why silver dimes were used but not other
coins, etc.
The holder for your dime is one of three (maybe four) varieties. The
logo is slightly different and some are printed with blue ink and
others with black.
You could give them one of your dimes and they would irradiate it for
you and then seal it on the spot. You could also buy one of their
pre-packaged dimes.
