I think the finder will do very very well; but I'm not sure that his
"reward" won't be reduced because he didn't leave the items "in situ"
- taking the things home and washing them reduces the archaeologist's
ability to gather clues about the conditions of the "deposit".
England may be more strict about this than Scotland; the laws aren't
exactly the same.
