Hello

In checking my change tonight I got a 10 cent
coin from what I think may be from Mexico. It is
near the same size and shape to the U.S. Dime.

It has the following text "ESTA-DOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS".

It has a symbol of and eagle with a snake
in it's beak and it's claws grabbing a
(what appears to be), a fish or rock.

The other side of the coin has 10 c (1996).

I also though I has two quarters. It turn out
to be two CAR WASH TOKENS. :(

Probably from money sent by a worker in Mexico to support his unemployed
relatives north of the border.

People collect tokens. Some day you may be able to get 25 cents each for
them.

If a guy can get a car wash for a 25c-sized token, who needs the 25c?

Never got a token back in change although I've seen them in coinstar
reject slots. No Canadian quarters in quite a while for me, but in
one week I got 3 Canadian cents from various locations. Tried to
pass one off and just my luck I get a teller that collects coins and
spotted it in a second. She balked a bit but accepted it. The few
quarters I get (or find metal detecting) are given to someone that
goes to Canada to fish. I have heard conflicting reports that those
work in vending machines.

OZ, who found a 1957 Mexican half dollar while detecting last week.
No silver content in them *ugh*
