A goodwill find, today. The true first of the first Travis
McGee novel, in paperback, published by Gold Medal 1964, No.
K1405, no dots on the copyright page, and one slight,
repairable tear on the spine and a small amount of sunning
on the front cover.

A lot of MacDonald's books were not issued in hardcover until he was
taken up by the British publisher Robert Hale. (I can imagine what a
full run of the Hale editions of the Travis McGee series would be
worth!) I got his JUDGE ME NOT at the Greenwich Village bookfair last
night...the only thing I bought at a rather disappointing show.
