Sanford, who also admitted meeting his lover more times than he had
previously claimed, told The Associated Press in emotional interviews
that he "crossed lines" with a handful of other women during 20 years
of marriage.
So?
It's hard to overlook this backdrop to his life while he was promoting
his "principaled" approach representing SC.
And you are "shocked" to find pols are like that?
No, not at all. But the folks who voted for him based on his family
values and principled behavior sure must be enjoying the proceedings.
So? So did Clinton. At least Sanford went for a good looking women, who
did not work for him.
Actually, the more a Republican pol professes his/her piety, "family
values," and dedication to GOP principles, the more likely he or she is
pandering to the simple-minded party base.
As in: "Let's vote for Sanford...he's a god-fearing, christian family
man. We can overlook the fact that he's a flaming asshole."
It warms my cold, cold heart to see these self-righteous "conservative"
assholes take the big fall on issues of "morality" and so disappoint
their constituents.
How do you know that? He's admitted to several over-the-line
relationships, at least some of them might have been with staffers.
Would you say the same thing for Ensign? Cheating on his wife with a
staffer's wife who also worked for him?
Can you say flip-flop?
Clinton never held himself up as a paragon of christian marital virtue.
Ensign and Sanford did.
Does not matter, they are all scumbags.

When you trade on faith and probity, you're owed a special torture
when proven as a skank.
Clinton didn't campaign on nor hold himself out as a maven of
morality.
Uh, yes he did.. Just like Pelosi, he promised a non-corrupt
whitehouse and lied...
Sure he did. He promised honesty, and openness in government. How much as
his Bosnia excursion cost us? We are still spending money on it.
I love the selective memory of the libs! I was a left leaning moderate until
I discovered harry... now I'm firmly right of center when he showed (and
continues to show) what idiots the lefties are. I'm not really talking about
their politics either... just their behavior.

I am a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. You are free to pretty
much do what you want as long as you do not hurt children and the rest of us
do not have to pay for your actions.
You are a libertarian.
There's been a name change...libertarians officially have changed their
name to...
Loonitarians!
All the selfishness of Republicans, with even less responsibility.
That sounds more like the current Democrats. All the spending now and make
the grandchildren pay for it.
Yeah, we should allow current citizens to die for lack of health care
to save our grandchildren on taxes.
Sounds good Bill.
Where were you when we were spending huge sums in Iraq on nothing?
Same place where I was when the previous occupant of the White House was
spending gobs of money in Bosnia. And how much did we really spend in Iraq?
We will have a military anyway. And upwards of 20-25% of the funding bills
were pork, with no connection to the war.
How much of the current excess government spending is going for healthcare?
Oh ............. you mean like Bushs' war?
Dem's voted for the war. So is a joint effort. Clinton bombed them daily.
Plus Clinton's bosnia is still costing us money.
As is Afghanistan. And Iraq, which we should have left four months
ago.
These aren't Bush's wars any more.

You keep harping about Bosnia. Can you tell us how much we've spent
in Bosnia?
I expect it's a low single digit percentage of what's been pissed away
in Iraq.
Additionally, they don't rank as moral equivalents by any standard.
Bosnia may be an even more evil war. There was absolutely nothing in it for
us. Was a European problem if at all. How much of that Iraq funding was
pork? Percentage wise? 25%? 30%?
What was the rest spent on, justifiable planes, tanks, fuel and bombs?
It's not an issue of pork, it's an issue of 3 trillion dollars wasted.
The whole fucking lot.
Actually according to the budget, it is about $850 billion. A far piece
from $3 trillion. And the pork part did not go to the war.
And how much have we spent in Bosnia?
You have no idea but like to use the brush to paint Clinton as a
waster of public funds for wars of choice.
My expectation is that our investment represents and low single digit
percentage of what's been invested in Iraq.
Billions. And since you seem so upset with the Iraq war, why not with the
Bosnian war? If you can destroy a country on the cheap, it is OK?
I'm sorry, what did we destroy? I thought most of the destruction was
done by the locals.
Oops. I was under the impression that around the clock bombing destroyed
stuff on the ground. Thanks for enlightening me.
I guess it depends on how many times the clock went around, right?
Wrong. Only takes one bomb to damage lots of stuff on the ground.
Vs. years of little bullets and mortars going 'round.
So, how much did it cost us to bomb? No idea, right?
Your point is still unmade Hans Christian.
I didn't know Bill was a yacht maker?
