I priced Awlgrip last year. The price varies according to the color but the
most expensive color (naturally, the one I picked) retailed at $286/gal. You
may, however, need to add some other elements that could drive up the cost --
thinners, etc. Spraying is the method that will give you the best result, but
unless you're experienced at this, let a pro do it. SOme other brands of
two-parts may roll/brush on easier than Awlgrip. COntact the paint companies.
Regardless of who does it, preparation is key. Remove as much hardware as you
can. Follow mfr's rules for application.
Are you certain you can't bring your current finish back to life??? You could
go that route with not much difference in labor and at a lower cost. On the
other hand, the two-part finishes will mean the end of waxing for many years --
they just don't benefit from that ritual.
