I have an older fibreglass hull 15ft 1/2 cab. Has anyone used two pack
paint with a roller or does it need to be sprayed.

Thanks.

Just bought a 18 ft aluminum boat for fishing and it is a Duracraft or
something close to that. It will need painting badly this fall before
storage what type of paint should one use ie: latex/oilbase or what it will
only be ran in a fresh water lake here in the fingerlakes. Does one need a
special paint for the fowling and is there different brands and what has
worked best for you please. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I just did a 15 ft glass boat. I used tips I picked up here. The main
one was to use a good paint with foam roller. Immediately upon rolling,
lightly go over it in one direction with a brush. This takes the bubbles
and splattery look off and leaves what looks like a sprayed finish!

The other tip is do not load too much paint. It sags. Also if you do
second coats within 24 hours of the last, you dont have to sand (again).

Good luck. Mine turned out, as we say in my business, good for camera.

Is it better to roll or brush the paint on than to spray it on? How much of
the old paint did you remove? Also, what is gel coat? It is below or above
the paint? Thanks to anyone with a clue. Bryan

Go to the libary and check out a book called fiberglass boat restore (something
like that). It gives you step by step on how to paint your boat. Boat US and
West Marine carries the book. Its very good.
