I've been unsuccessfully trying to find a suitable upholstered
easy chair for the saloon of my 41' convertible sedan. All of
the ones in the local furniture stores are too large. I've seen
lots of upholstered chairs in boats that appear to be about 2/3
the size of conventional chairs, but they generally came with
the boat and no one seems to know where to get one. I've tried
searching the web without success.
Anyone know who stocks these chairs? Thx.

Try Camping World. They have some of the type of furniture you're
looking for. I am sure they have an 800 number.

If you can't find the original, you might try This End Up - available in
most locations. Smaller but comfortable and sturdy. Their catalog has
all of the measurements so you can measure ahead.

You might look into the manufacturers that specialize in RV
furniture, it is both solid and compact, and I expect can be ordered
with nearly any fabric. There used to be a company in FL a few years
ago that specialized in marine furniture, the quality was very high
and they provided pieces for a lot of the yacht manuf. but I don't think
they are still in business. Good luck. SG.

Taurus Furniture Industries makes RV & Boat Furniture for boat
manufacturers. The owner, Paul Mordan, who belongs to my boat club, is
also a boater. He has been making interiors for boats for over 20 years.
He is located in the Lansdale PA area. Anyone who would like more
information on how to get in touch with Taurus Furniture Industries, may
contact me and I will get you an address and phone number. I bought my
boat new in 1989, Taurus did the interior for the manufacturer, I have
kept the furniture clean with a steam cleaning each year, and the drapes
dry cleaned every other year. Still looks excellent.
