1-800-skipper gets you a catalog from the worlds largest boating electronics
dealer. They also rate them and calibrate.
Boat US's prices seem to be EXACTLY the same as West Marine.
And West Marine has a frequent buyer's club that amounts to
a 5% discount, and frequently has sales where electronics
are 5% off (everything else 10% off).
I can sometimes beat West's prices by a LITTLE (a couple of
percent) with obscure dealers on the internet,
but with West's no-hassle return
policy, and the ability to touch and feel things in store,
and people (not all, but 2/3) who know something,
it's just not worth the hassle of dealing with someone
on the internet that I never heard of.
Note: West's online catalog sucks. It's very incomplete relative
to their paper catalog, and slow and hard to find things.
Their paper catalog is a book every boatowner should have.
