Actually, after visiting your site, your prices don't seem different
from any other run of the mill online marine store... And you are a
spammer, so nobody should do business with you anyways...

That's an easy promise Ron -- if your prices are so great, why not match the
price then refund double the difference? It seems nowadays anyone can offer 'the
lowest prices around' because they only occasionally have to back it up by
matching a competitor. If the competitor has a better price on you on one item,
what are the odds his prices are better across the board thus negating the need
to have you in the picture at all?

But, since you are a spammer, why should we? Just about any outfit
will match any other price, and they don't spam newsgroups.

How about %15 less than any other competitor's advertized price?
Now that would be something worth talking about.

And one more kick at the can:

They offered the lowest price first -- what incentive does the consumer have to
buy from you knowing you had to come down in price? Shouldn't the other guy get
the sale since he's the one that forced you to come down? Some people's
kids.....

Exactly. Perhaps Ron should have done the checking around like anyone
else can do. He'd find out really quick that a price shopper wouldn't
buy squat from his spam site.

Oooo...SPAM....Sorry, Rod. We don't buy stuff from people who post
their commercial spam on our newsgroup, which is against your internet
provider's Acceptable Use Policy, anyway.

Of course, you COULD apologize profusely to us and promise to NEVER
post any more spam to any newsgroup on the internet and we'd PROBABLY
forgive you, opening us up to visiting your store, again.

Spamming newsgroups, especially rec.boats, is NOT a way to move
product. It only makes people stay away from your business.
Thanks.....

Besides, we all buy wholesale from Brown's Marina on THIS newsgroup
because Dave is a nice guy and doesn't spam our newsgroup. He sold me
the Garmin GPS about 1/2 what the price was on your website. We all
buy wholesale from Brown's and take great advantage of the lousy
Canadian dollar, too!

larry....Thanks, Dave!

But, but, but ... we have Al Gore given rights that on the internet we
can make utter and total asses out of ourselves!

Then people like you come in here and try and ruin all the fun. 8^)

I hate spam as much (or more) than the next guy, and I don't know what
the "official" netiquette rules say. However, I personally don't find
the posting of a message to rec.boats advertising a web site that
sells marine equipment particularly objectionable. What I have found
rather tedious are the numerous replies debating the propriety of the
original post. (I realize that, ironically, I have now added to that

My normal course of action, which I will resume after this post, is to
ignore without comment posts I find off-topic or objectionable. I
recommend this tactic to others - - you might find it quite
liberating!

That was *below* wholesale Larry. I mage up the loss by volume. ;-)

That's OK, we all have our pet peeves. Mine is spammers who claim to be lowest
priced and back up the claim by 'matching' their competitors.

Ironically, I found my posts to be quite liberating although I must admit I'm
saddened it has not generated a response from the original offender. :-)
