Painting Plastic on a boat???

Hi, I have 2 side vents on my boat. They are on the outside, on each side
beside the motor for the intake and exhaust venting for the inboard motor
cavity. The vents are approx. 2 1/4 inches high by 17 1/2 inches long. They
were white in color until the sun faded them into a very dull yellowish
color.

I would love to take them off and repaint them a nice polar white to look
like new again but I can't find any paints made for plastic material. can
anyone recommend a place to purchase this paint, preferably in a spray can?

All you really need to do is prime them with a primer (preferably white) and
then use almost any good quality spray paint.

I tried all of them. They don't have paint for a specific application onto
plastic!!!! Except the model store but they only have little tiny bottles
with a tiny nail polish brush.

The hobbie shops should carry Testors paint that are made for plastic.
They do come in small spray cans as well, you just need to find the right
store that has them.
Wal-mart carries them as well.
Or go to Overtons and get new ones there not that expensive!

Try cleaning them with Sno-Bole first. You may not need to paint after all.
It's a toilet bowl cleaner that works well. Wipe on - wash off.

I did, but all he had was plastic bumber paint, any color I wanted as long
as it was black or grey. Haha

Anyway, it doesent matter anymore, I found a boat shop who had some old
stock vents and picked up 2 white new ones for 14.00 CAD each.

For the trouble it will be, it may be worth just replacing them. They
are actually pretty reasonable.

Nicro makes a paint to repaint this type of plastic. You could also try vinyl
spray paint that's is available at auto body supply houses.
