Very nice looking when the sun rises also.

Ahem, is that Bomb Island left of the ETEC?
Starting to wonder about your attachment to that ETEC.
Nice shots, especially the wake and the stern quarter view
of the Ranger.

Nice looking boat, was that a Yamaha on the transom? I know it could
not have been an ETEC, no one owns any of them.
That must be a law enforcement boat then.
I have been on Murray many times, and it never looked as good as it did
in Tom's photos. I thought he was using an ultra wide lens, but he shot
that with a Canon PowerShot with the equivalent of a 59mm lens. Very
nice. Not too shabby for a point and shoot
Looks like about 3" of "freeboard" at the stern...or is that an optical
illusion? And that transom motor well...I overestimated its capacity. :>)
You need to look at the photo again, but this time put on your glasses.
There is definitely an optical illusion, see if you can figure it out.
Oops...

I was tired. :>)
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Nine out of 13 FLW boats on Lake Murray this morning - All ETECs. The
rest were Mercs.
Not a Yamaha in sight. :>)
In a sense, one could look at it that way. :>)

That camera has had the crap beat out of it and it still takes a great
image.
Well, look at it this way.
It doesn't have a freakin' hole where the motor is. :>)
Maybe 4" of freeboard at the stern between the top of the motor transom
and the water level, and a small motor well. In any sort of following
sea, you'll get pooped, the water will rush over the motor well, fill
it, and pour into the cockpit.

Very nice, hope you bought him a drink later. :-)
Does the boat catch fish ?
If so, pictures ?
Did you get any pics of the engine on that boat?
It's a little more than four inches - I just went outand measured it
(something I've never done oddly) - it's twenty one inches from the
water line to the top of the live well.
I've actually taken waves over the stern, but the interesting thing is
that the boat floats like a freakin' cork and drains very quickly.
Not today unfortunately. We had a series of storms move through
yesterday evening and the lake rose about a foot and a half - I have
no clue as to flow pattern change yet - there seems to be four or five
patterns according to some of the pro guides I've talked to depending
on how much or little water there is in any part of the lake at any
given time.
Spent more time just prowling around and marking structure comparing
the depth finder to the GPS to the lake topo map I have.
Eventually, I'll figure it all out. :>)
You're pissing me off. I'm in LA (lower Alabama) this week, and will
be coming back in tomorrow afternoon. I was out seeing those same
sights last Sunday, and will be back out on Murray this weekend.
Working for a living, ya know?
Anyway, I'm sure I still have your email addy, and I'll ping you when
I return. Even if we don't make it out, maybe I can grill you and
Mrs. Wave a steak one night. Or chicken. Or salad... if you eat what
food eats. :-)

Roger that. It's nice being retired. :>)
I'll probably be out there Saturday morning poking around and marking
fish. You see my Ranger out there, give me a holler. I monitor VHF -
Channel nine or sixty eight are priority channels.

10-4 - looking forward to it.

I'm sure it does, just as mine does.
Moron.
Dammit, I was hoping to see some very artistic beautiful pictures of
an old clapped out barn and some corn.

An interesting note, years ago, when I flew into the Columbia airport,
they still had the original runaway and hanger used by Doolittle during
his training exercise. They kept the lines painted on the runaway that
the pilots used to represent the length they had on the carrier. If
they didn't lift off before they hit the line, they knew they just
landed in the ocean.
It's still there at the original airport - including an intact B-25.
I actually meet someone who was on Doolittle's Raid. After the war, he
started a wholesale distributor to service the textile industry in SC.
On his office wall he had all the photos of his plane, his squadron and
Doolittle. While he had that little memorial to his squadron, I was
told he didn't like to talk about it, so i didn't ask any questions.
Cool beans.
Tom, the atmosphere at Chuck's Island is totally changed. You might give it
a shot.
Keep telling yourself that.
