I just came across a site that shows some promise for electronics purchases.
It is www.cmelectron.com and I think it's worth a look. I know nothing about
these folks and have not done any business with them, but the site is nicely
done and the prices look a bit better than BOAT/US, etc.

If anyone knows these folks, I would be interested in your comments.

Thanks,
Butch Davis-

Butch,
I have been purchased various products from Consumer Marine Electronics
for the last few years. These include Raytheons 8010 fish finder,
Raytheons
GSP and DGPS.Lee 32'outriggers, Apelco 510 hand held VHF,Anchor line and
..
well you get the picture.
The staff is knowledgeable and the prices are good .I have numerous
marine
stores near where I live but the 25 mile trip to the CME is worth the
trip.
Hope this helps,
Kevin

Kevin,

Thanks for the good poop. I'll give them an opportunity to compete when I buy
a GPS/Chart. Have you had any occassion to deal with them on warranty issues?

I am also in the market for GPS, VHF, and fishfinder for my new boat.
Their prices are good, and they responded to my email within one day.
I found another site today, Post Marine (www.postmarine.com), that had
them beat by $15 for the Garmin GPS 128 and $5 for the ICOM M45.
However, my order will be from out of state and CME is offering no
freight charge during Feb for internet orders. It's probably a wash,
though. I have ordered catalogs from both. With a new boat on the
way, I figure it can't hurt to have too many quality catalogs.
