Subject: Lost River Knife at Waterton Canyon (CO) put-in
I lost a River Knife at the Waterton Canyon (CO) put-in on Thursday (10/14)
afternoon sometime around 3:30pm. I'm pretty sure it was dropped in the dirt
parking lot between my car and "the head" of the small trail that leads down
to the water, I was parked just across from this trail; I placed it on my
boat while I was zipping up my pfd and then picked up the boat and headed
down the trail and into the water.

I looked around for it when I got back to the car, there was plenty of
light, but I didn't see it.

The knife is manufactured by "Wenoka Cutlery". It has a "z-lock" mechanism
for securing it to the sheath/sleeve; this mechanism is like a small round
button/ball (chrome/stainless steel) which is spring-loaded and sinks into
the handle as it is going in/out of the sleeve.

The handle itself is black plastic. The blade is Stainless steel and is a
straight edge on one side and serrated on the other.

If anyone finds it and/or knows anything about it, I would appreciate it if
you would let me know.

I can be reached at raff...@att.net or (303)423-4441.

Thanx.

I think I saw this new freak creature... It resembled a dude on a knee board
wearing fins fighting the river. At first glance it appeared to be surfing a
wave, but then i realized it was trying to get back up river for the spawn.
It didn't make it.... It got trashed pretty good, so there shouldn't be too
many more sightings.  I guess it's back to the 'ol evolutionary drawing
board for that river-knife/strap/watch/teva/beer beast!
