Two sources:
Consumer's Marine Electronics
 Consumers Marine Electronics | Home

and
Surplus Sales of Nebraska
Surplus Sales of Nebraska Home Page

If you need to make a splice, fold and crimp for a good mechanical
connection, then solder. Try to keep the joint dry to minimise the
dissimilar metals problem.

Can anyone suggest a source for the copper foil used to ground an SSB
transceiver to its tuner?   Its about 3" wide.  I've found some from Newmar
... but its too thin. (Kinks too easy).   I'd like to something a bit
beefier.

Also, what's the best way to join 2 pieces of this copper tape?

You could also try "The Wireman" (800-727-WIRE), a supplier of quality
equipment for radio hams; he's got copper foil in 2" x .02". Prices
usually a lot better than "marine" shops

Copper roof flashing - local building materials discount store like
Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.

Of course, you COULD buy Genuine OEM copper foil from your dealer for
triple the price....just to be sure of getting a premium
product....(c;

The copper "tape" I use to ground my rig on the sailboat is about 3" wide.
I folded the end in a trianglar pattern 3 or 4 times to give the flimsy end
some bulk. Then I punched a hole in the beefed up end and bolted it to my
engine block. Same technique at the other end.
