Neal can't read well in his decaying state.

You should have taken the trip.

Shame about the Mystic. The Racheal B Jackson is for sale in Maine as
well.
171 is too much boat, crew, money, maintainance ect..

2.8 million is a good deal on such a new boat, but finding work for
it right now is just not going to happen. Windjammer had the same
problems. Not to many ways out there for a man to make a living with a
sailboat.

I was aboard her here in Houston.. I think right when she returned
from the around trip. I was still pushing fuel and saw her at the fuel
dock on pelican Island IIRC. Nice boat.

From MacDonald's fry master to fuel dock boy? Well, I guess that could be

The main dock and tanks were on Pelican Island.

But, it's not easy to enjoy the coffee while smelling Joe's bullshit. . .

As for saltwater, I've live on it and sailed on it probably more years than
Joe's lived. He's still wet behind the ears.

She has moved around a bit over the years, so I'm not sure. She was in
SW Harbor, then Rockport for a few years. Might very well be in Bar
Harbor now, but I don't know. R.B. Jackson at under 70 feet is
considerably smaller than the antiques she was modeled after.

Wooooooo just slow down here Mike, my professional career is long from
well behind me. Infact I just got my first TWIC card. I'm going to
renew my ticket as it will reduce insurance cost on the boat

I've had 15 years of sail now and I plan to keep doing it until I
kick the bucket.
My goal now as a professional mariner is to get a sail boat and work
it. We are doing that by creating a market for the products the boat
will deliver. This way the boat can pay for itself, and not be taken
by the bank. I'd much rather loose a boat offshore than to the bank,
and I've done both. I learned from both experiences.

The break down is I can save around 2.00 a pound by dealing directly
with the grower and buying a complete 20' container...47,500 lbs per
trip. At 100K lbs a year thats enough to support a 79" boat and crew.
My goal now is to expand big time, it took me almost two years to get
down the basic of roasting, packing and selling into a very tight and
well covered industry. Get one boat working and making money then
build another for New Orleans, then, LA both coffee free ports. I'm
getting my ducks in a row and fixing to pitch the coffee to a major
nation wide retailer that could make my dreams come true...wish me
luck.

I agree. You are not going to out temper tantrum the stalking duo.
Just ignore it, it's easy as pie.

I've always use Neal as a test bed of sorts. Toss something out and
let him try to rip it apart. It helps me to prepare for any question a
critic of my ideal will have. I do this with my friends as well. It's
a basic tool used by everyone who has to close a deal.

Neal's ripped on every Sailor out there doing something that he
envies and thinks is amazing. It's a complicated complex mental
disorder.

Remember the Ellen MacArthur episodes? Ellen caused him to go
ballistic. What a lady!. He even became a woman sailor and posted
pitures in a desperate attempt to keep up..

As far as his vandetta's and cat fights with whoever, and his
childish stalking I leave that to the children to work out, I've got
better things to do.

The trip around beat her up pretty good, thats one of the reasons i
recall her so well, many "Holy shit" stories from the Captain. She
just needed some down time and a bunch of TLC.

It's a shame tall working ships have been reduced to historical
relics, harbor tourist attractions and playing games.

At the end of that advert, they mention that she is currently in
Southwest Harbor. That was where she was back when I sailed on her,
around 1995. I was in the area again in 2000, and she had moved to
Rockland Harbor. Southwest Harbor is also home to Hinckley and other
well known builders.

Congratulatoins on the TWIC joe !

Now for that little statment...............I'm going to
> renew my ticket................

If I remember right you said you had a 1600 GRT Master Ocean and let
it expire. Well my good friend, depending on how long that license has
been sitting there you got a couple little problmes:

1) Recency tonnage
2) OICNW as in STCW.

Since you got your license so long ago, none of the OICNW training was
not required. It is NOW. So youre looking at 6 months and $15,000 -
$20,000. And that is for anythin over 500 GRT Mate NC. Yes, you can go
to young's Memorial CC in Moron city, LA and knock out a few of them
at a fraction of the cost per class but ya still looking at all the
others......

Google PMI Seattle, WA and reade the AB to Mate program. That will
give yhou a heads up. OH, which reminds me.... Of course you have
your AB...... uh, dont you? Got to have that for that big wall paper
of urs.

So that little satment of yours says a couple things to me...........
1) youre yacking out your ass again
2) or your so fixed in a life 25 years ago you have no idea what
professional mariner means in this century...

Good luck on the RENEW chump.

bob

PS... Have I shamed you to become an active mariner again? Sinking

stupid idiot like you would dish out 15-20 grand, most likely to some

When I own a boat over a 100 tons I'll upgrade, but for now a 100 ton
will do.

Ever hear of Houston marine? http://www.houstonmarine.com/

My friend, who use to be on the same USCG bouy tender as my Cousin
owns the school. We also use to work together at State Boat
Corporation at the time the largest OSV company in the world. Cliff
Drown my cousin was the president of the company. If you ever have a
chance stop in, you will see models of several boats I use to master,
(models that cost more than your crappy little sailboat)....even a
couple of knot boards I made that will show little dumbasses like you
hundreds of examples of superior marlinspike seamanship.

Remember the oil patch is a family, and were pretty tight. It's a
family that out of state smart ass... know it all.... dumb
fuck....barely a deck hand like you will never be a part of. BTW I
know the presidents of two of the largest offshore outfits in the
gulf, guess that I had all the sea time needed huh?.

So go fuck yourself Bob. You will never be able to shame me into

It's not for my current boat Jon, it's for the 79fter Roger Long
designed. It' still on the drawing board. My coffee sales are at only
around 13% of the needed annual sales to start building (100,000 lbs
per year). But as I stated we are talking to one of the nations
largest retailers about a regional contract (9000 lbs a mo.) and if we
close the deal than hopefully we can lay a keel in a year or so. As
you know the banks are very picky right now with biz loans.

The company we are talking to donated all the school supplies and some
of the musical instruments we delivered to San Pedro.

The insurance company is Lloyds of London. To get a container boat
insured you have to have a licenced master running the boat. The boats
is going to have to meet Lloyds and ABS standards for cargo duty.
Check out the CFR and see what that entails.

So far so good Joe. I agree with you ocmpletely. SOunds as though
youve been doing somthing with your local REC and NMC a 100 ton
license... Now thats a long way from 1600 GRT MASTER OCEAN..... what
happened wouldnt they just give hyou a new BIG license ? ? ? ?? ? ?

Upgrade to what"
From 100 to 200 tons? That is still a safe license for you Joe because
STCW does not apply unles you go 200 grt (500 itc) Oceans.

BUT If you plan on 500/1600 GRT NC or Oceans Master OR Mate you still
must have the full OICNW set of courses plus AB.
Sorry to pop your bubble Joe. I guess that old 1600 ton oilpatch (OSV
grandfathered) aint worth much now.....

> Ever hear of Houston marine?http://www.houstonmarine.com/

Im always lookin for quality training.. I just went to the web site
and found a similar situation with ALL GOM area training. THey do not
offer FULL OICNW courses. Just the basics need for the lower level OSV
licenses.... Yes, it is true the oilpatch has their own USCG set of
licenseing requirments. Ya think those requirments are more or less
strict than the rest of country............ Duhh,,,,, less and exempt
from STCW/OICNW. They had to be cause most the mariners down there
cant read!

You must be a very smart and capable seaman.... Im impressed!

Yup, that must be when ya say "grunt like a little piggy" just befor
you stick it in. I guess ya like it nice and tight.
So what is the best pick up line in most the bars down in TEXAS? "May
i push your stool in?"

Oh ya I know that family. Isnt that the same family where the sister
woke up with him fucking her and told the brother,
"you fuck just like daddy..... and the brother said, Ya I know. Thats
what momma said.

Oh and what did the little girl say when she woke up with daddy on top
of her?
Be careful daddy...........

Your gonna crush my smokes.

Oh, yes I know your family very well.......

That must really come in handy knowing such influential people. And it
has got you exactly what?????
Maybe a job????
I guess not.

Your may be correct. Your doing such a wonderful job of it yourself ;)

I guess what makes me toss up my hands in frustration is you may have
a very doable idea/project. Unfortuanatly I hear the same ignorant
bravado evident in these posts as were in your orriginal ones before
sinking your boat. To me your words here reflect a mindset of
arrogance. an unwillingness to learn from past mistakes. Unfortunaly
more of the same will result in more of the same. Youre going to have
to change the way you think joe. Your going to have to grow.... up,
mature into a rational adult. if you were from California id suggest
going to therapy to escape that child ego state your stuck in.

Id also like to know what marine insuarnce company gives discounts for
USCG licenses......... USAA doesnt. Alstate doesnt Yes, it is
true.......... I am a member of USAA.... OMG!

So have fun with that 100 ton NC and feel good that you have a license
bigger than SKIP and Lydia....

Oh, and smaller that my little 200 ton NC. As the Marine Ops president
of a large publicly traded corportion said to me, Come-see bobs little
200 ton license... is dat 4 du littel pirogue? i said yes sir...

For me Joe..... I will quitely go about my business gaining time and
tonnage. and when I get absolutly sick of all the ignorance and hate
in your beloved oilpatch I will use RBC as a place to vent my
frustrations. If I dont like the GOM why stay??? It serves my purpose
for the moment. Hell Id fuck a whore but I sure would marry her. But I
guess that is our diffrence. I consder them whores and you call them
family.......................................
