what kind of paint works best on galvanized sheet metal?


can i
get soft steel rivets that a amateur can use with a hammer & backup-iron
???
can i use a flat back-up iron?? do i need a punch??
PS. i want to use vary light gauge steel and i don't aluminium
rivets and i DO-NOT want to weld it. i have done enough welding and i
want to glue & rivet all the light sheet steel,,,and i just want to
learn a old forgotten trade

I remember painting galvanized sheet metal with vinegar before applying
exterior oil paint. I don't know if that should be done with water paint.

I used Zinc Chromate primer (funky green) on galvanized sheet metal (no
pretreatment), followed by standard rustoleum primer and paint..worked fine
and it's been outdoors for years...it's some metal flashing under the gable
end on a house and has full weather exposure.
