Osprey diving

Ospreys have returned to our lake in good numbers. Every now and then
I hear a big splash. Have tried to get a photo of one diving, but
never succeeded until the other day. Caught the stoop, but still
missed the splashdown! See: <http://blog.rosyfinch.com/?p=267>

We watched one diving like this on our favourite lake this past summer
too. I never get tired of watching that!

Your photos are better than any I've been able to get of this action.

"missed the splashdown!" reminded me of this picture I saw the other
day: http://technicalities.mu.nu/cool_runnings...

Wulll when I wuz in the Navy we called them birds. Some had names like
"Sparrow"!
