....about 11,448 of them (geese, that is) according to the census,
arrive yesterday at Squaw Creek.

They had been out on a daytrip, I guess.

An awe-inspiring sight (and site).

140,571 ducks there they said. (One does wonder how they get those
numbers.)

Also saw clouds of Grackles doing the tree-to-tree thing. What a
racket, Grackles here, Geese there, ducks in between.

One wonders how the muskrats get any sleep.

They count the wings and divide by two.
