I was in the hospital for two days and was unable to take the seed
feeder in at night. When I got home the feeder and suet were missing.
The bear must have been hungry. He didn't touch the hummingbird feeder.

Sorry hear that you were in the hospital and glad that you are out. I
don't yet know which is worse, needing to go to the hospital or being in
it. I'm always glad that I can come home and that I can at lest get
some rest and sleep.

That's the important stuff. If need-be we can pass the hat to replace
the feeders.

I hope you're okay, Mike! How about the cats, anyone available to feed
them while you were in the hospital?

I had a mini stroke. Just some slurring of my speech and problems
writing with my right hand. My neighbor fed the cats for me. Things
are almost back to normal now but I have to take three medicines. I see
my doctor this afternoon..

Last evening I had a visit from the bear. He was licking the part of
the window frame where the suet had been. I chased him with the air
horn and he retreated into the woods. He emerged again but stayed near
the woods and eventually went into the woods and headed for a neighbor's
property. He didn't touch the hummer feeder but I took it in for the
night anyway.

Yes, he must be hungry. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better.

I'm pretty sure you don't let your cats outside. On the anecdotes ng
some folks in the UK simply don't understand the predators we have in
the States. We have good reason not to let cats wander around. You
have bears. Probably raptors, too. I've got raptors and alligators.

I'm sorry that happened but glad it was not worse.
