Subject: Bird feeding score!
At my age and weight I'm not too light on my feet but yesterday
afternoon I did a happy dance.
With the extremely mild winter we've had so far this year I guess not
as many people are feeding the birds and at least one of the local
suppliers figured they had too much stock left.
They were just in the process of marking it down when we went in
yesterday afternoon so we took advantage of some real deals.
Took all they had (40+) Scotts Morning Song brand Year Round Suet
blocks at $0.48 each. We normally make our own mixture but, can't do
it for 48 cents a block. They'll keep in the freezer for years but,
that won't be necessary.
Picked up a few  bags of Morning Song brand Thistle (Nyjer) Seed at
$6.50 per 9.1 kg. (20 lb.) bag. Hard to beat 32-1/2 cents a pound for
nyjer. The upside down finch feeders were also marked down to $3.25
each so took a few of those as well.
Also picked up a few sunflower seed-type feeders and a couple
hummingbird nectar feeders, all discounted 75%.
All in all, a really good day!
